The food was good but the Sunday brunch was way too expensive over 10 dollars for a 5 year old to eat is to much in my book I probably won't go back.

Went for lunch today. Not impressed. I got the chicken fried chicken. It tasted like it was deep fried with fish, the mashed potatoes were instant and the green beans were awful. My husband got the patty melt and it was burnt. Cost $25 for awful food. Won't go back.

This place is an amazing find! The Big Tonka Burger is the best burger I've seen in a long time! It's HUGE juicy and delicious! Hot beef meal was huge and amazing as well! Cant rave enough about this place.

Food over priced and very bland . Service was slow and lackluster. With all the remodeling we were seated in a broken booth. (Tacky) I have had better food at a senior center.

They have Great Owners and Employees. They have several Fresh Fruits and Vegetables, To choose from on their Salad Bar.They also have several Fresh Pies and Pastries. A Wonderful Restaurant to Eat 'Breakfast', Lunch or Dinner. They also serve Adult Beverages Now for the first time, that I know.

We have been once and are hesitant to go again. Have not heard that they have gotten any better service wise. The interior is nice, they have a good looking salad bar, but service was so neglectful when we went we got our meal compted. The wrong food was brought out, then when corrected it was missing side item, waitress argued with me and gave nothing but excuses and refused to get a manager. It was awful, and I really tried with them. We will go back and try again hoping it was opening drama, but I'm very nervous. I will update if it improves. Sorry.

The food was ok but the atmosphere and decor were worth seeing.

The portions are not worth the price. 10 bucks for a small chicken breast and a spoon of corn. When I got my plate I thought maybe they forgot something. But no....that was it. The chicken breast dinner is a piece of chicken on a plate...with a small spoonful of the cheapest vegetable on the planet. The service was friendly but not worth the trip by itself. I hope they figure this out soon. I would love to see this place make it. But if they keep skimping on the portions I see a quick closure here.

The place is open again, and the cooking staff is new. Supposedly, they have recently hired a new chef. But when we were in, the bacon was so well done, we packaged it up to feed to our dogs.

We absolutely love what they have done with this place. The renovations have made this place look so much nicer, it's so much cleaner and the food is still amazing!!!

The sausage Links are the best in town!

First time there since reopening with new owner. Went for breakfast and food was good. It's normally out of our way but will return again when we have any reason to be near.

Give them a try! Had lunch today and food was delicious and portions are good. Club sandwich was big and tasty. Husband had the Reuben and meat was piled on! Service was great and fast. This will be a regular spot for us now.

Their steaks are really good, they get the food out quickly and I can't believe I am saying this but the women's bathroom was really nice

This was my first visit to Tonka Hills, but it won't be my last! This was a great experience, from the staff to the food to the price. I enjoyed the Chicken Fettuccine special, which came with a trip to the Salad Bar (there was a generous selection of items on it). There was quite the abundance of dessert options, and I ended up deciding on a piece of Applesauce Pie, which I took to go and have no doubt that it will exceed expectations! The atmosphere was relaxed, the prices were perfect, and the portions were sufficient. I highly recommend the fried cheese bites (some of the best I've had at any restaurant)! All in all, this restaurant is off to a great start under new ownership!

Home cooked food and Great service.

Husband had beef liver and onions...couldn't eat any of his food said liver was very tough, mashed potatoes and gravy was cold ....I had grilled chicken breast barely warm and tasted like frozen microwaved bought it home for dog...she wouldn't eat it either! Advised manager of issues ...he took $2.70 off bill wow! Won't be back and won't recommend to anyone !

Went here for lunch for the first time today. The food was excellent! It took a little while before we got it but to be fair the place was packed . I had the hamburger with fries and the wife had the tenderloin sandwich with fries. The food was definitely worth the wait! I did notice they were having a few issues. Running out of certain items and a little confusion on a couple of patrons orders but they are newly opened and I'm sure they will get things ironed out. The place was clean and they are certainly friendly. Looking forward to giving breakfast a try. I'm gonna give them another week or two before I go though. So if you like good food make sure you give them a try!

$10.00 for carryout cornbeef and cabbage. Very little meat. Tasted good. Portion was small.

My husband and I chose to stop and give Tonka Hills a try. The restaurant was clean and the staff provided plenty of room for social distancing. When we arrived there were about 6 tables. Unfortunately, it will be our last time. So many issues: Food on the buffet was just ok, I’m sure it would have been better if it had been warm and tended to regularly. Wait staff not properly trained, waitress brought our drinks by carrying one in each hand and the other was in the crook of her arm. She came back to check on us after we had already flagged another server down. We watched a bus boy scoop ice out of the machine with a glass instead of a scoop and the final issue was the manager was eating pickled okra off the Bloody Mary bar with her bare fingers. Really disappointed, hope this review helps them change for the better.

Glad they reopened, the food was delicious, the portions were very good. I had the grilled chicken dinner and I was so full I didn’t have room for dessert. I am anxious to try the breakfast menu.

My husband and I decided to stop and breakfast here this morning, the waitress was very polite to us and the dining room was clean . we hated to have to say anything negative which could be a easy fix but we decided to go with the breakfast bar and the food was cold we did tell the the waitress and she said she would tell her boss , she did and someone came out to check the food but instead of checking temps with a thermometer or noticing there was no steam what so ever on the bar it was not fixed while we were there . the price for the breakfast bar was 10.99 per person for sure over priced considerating there wasn't alot of options. After reading some of the reviews hopefully they will figure out a way to fix the cold food problems and more of a selection on the breakfast bar for that price and proper portions.

Staff are great. My Hubby loves their Chicken Livers. I had the BLT.

Good down home cooking at reasonable prices.Today's lunch specials were a blackened chicken sandwich with your choice of fries or okra and a sirloin steak sandwich with same choice of okra or fries.The food was great a D so was the service. They closed awhile after many, many years but are back open under new ownership.

They have came along greatly the past 2 weeks. I have noticed a few changes in product with better portions. The owner said he was working to make sure the food was at the right quality with the proper quantity, I believe that. They still have a few things they need to work on but I see them making improvements on service and wait times. Keep up the great work and continue to get better! Thank you for reopening and serving the community.

Our new favorite place to eat. So yummy! Hands down the best home cooking at the lake. A clean environment with a friendly staff. We will be going back often.

Food is fresh taste great. Smells good looks good. Service is super nice,family owned clean beautiful and just flat out great would totally recommend.
